A pest evaluation, more commonly known as a termite inspection, is done visually, at which time the inspector is looking for evidence of termites and wood destroying insects /organisms. During the process the entire home is inspected including the exterior of the structure, the crawl space, the attic and the basement.
There are many types of wood destroying insects that can cause major damage to the structure of the home. Some examples of these insects are: Drywood Termites, Subterranean Termites, Formosan Termites, Wood Boring Beetles, and Carpenter Ants.
Your pest inspector will be looking for an active infestation, evidence of past treatments and conditions conducive to insect infestation. Areas of concern will be listed (along with a diagram) on your Texas Official Wood Destroying Insect Report. You will receive a copy of the report at the end of the inspection, at which time the inspector can answer any questions you may have.
